Study on the Samples of Macroplant Remains in the Heritage Site at the Ancient Government Seat of Luxian County:Taking the Southeastern Suburbs as an Example
The samples of macroplant remains in the southeast of heritage site at the ancient government seat of Luxian County are divided into four periods:Western Han,Eastern Han,Wei-Jin and Liao-Jin.Seven crops collected from flotation samples including foxtail millet,broomcorn millet,wheat,barley,rice,soybean,azuki bean and other 15 kinds of non-crop plants.The quantitative analysis result shows that since the Han Dynasty,the agricultural production of the site residents was based on millet and wheat,supplemented by many kinds and varieties of crops.Under the stable dry farming strategy,there are different ways of using plant and food resources in small-scale of rice-farming and garden planting.The agricultural production mode is relatively conservative.The proportion and position of several crops in agricultural structure fluctuated and changed at different periods.The discovery of plant remains in the southeast of the suburb provides a new material to understand the consumption of plant resources in the handicraft area of Luxian County and the study of agricultural social development in the historical period of Beijing.
