Individual,Social,and Physical Issues in Participatory Exhibitions at Museums:The Case of the Exhibition In Pursuit of Shangri-La
The idea of participatory exhibition has put forward several new opportunities and challenges to the museums.The case of In Pursuit of Shangri-La:The Migration Epic and Mobile Dialogue at the Eastern Foothills of the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau in Yunnan Provincial Museum has showed the purpose,difficulties,and design ideas of museum participatory exhibition.Based on such case,this article suggests that as one method,participatory should still link to the object,meanwhile expressing its ambition on the issues of individual representation and current social challenges.
