Spatiotemporal Evolution, Agglomeration Characteristics and Influencing Factors of Silkworm Industry in Guangxi
The development of sericulture industry in Guangxi Province plays a pivotal role in the development of national cocoon and silk industry. In this paper, data of cocoon production and mulberry field area of Guangxi Province from 2000 to 2022 were used to explore the spatiotemporal evolution law of the sericulture industry in the whole region of Guangxi, and the relevant data of 14 prefecture-level cities in Guangxi from 2011 to 2021 were used to explore the spatiotemporal evolution law, agglomeration characteristics and influencing factors of the sericulture industry of the whole province. The results showed that, as a whole, the cocoon production of Guangxi was generally in an upward trend but the area of mul-berry field was shrinking. From the perspective of prefec-ture-level cities, the spatial distribution characteristics among prefecture-level cities were obvious, and there was agglomeration effect. In terms of influencing factors of cocoon yield, the area of mulberry field and govern-ment support had a significant positive impact, while the level of urbanization had a significant negative impact, and the area of mulberry field and the level of urbanization had a positive spillover effect.Based on this, this paper puts forward the following policy suggestions, that is, to strengthen scientific and technological research and innovation to ensure that cocoon production of Guangxi is in the first position in the country, to innovate the policy transmission mechanism and give full play to the industrial agglomeration effect, and to give play to the role of favorable factors and make reasonable use of the spillover effect of unfavorable factors.
