Morphological Simulation of Marine Droplet Generation on Ship Hull Based on SPH Numerical Simulation Technique
To study how sea spray form, the smoothed particle hydrodynamics(SPH)method for particle capturing technology is employed to analyze the influence of four common bow characteristics on ocean spray trajectories. The research show that the design of the bow plays a decisive role in the generation and movement characteristics of the spray.Bulbous bows and icebreaker bows suppress waves reduce the coverage area of the spray, while clipper bows and raked bows utilize their unique streamlined design effectively to guide the spray, minimizing the spray's direct impact on vessels. In addition, the working conditions and trajectory patterns of different types of droplets(such as collapse, curl and excited wave fragmentation)near the bow of the ship are also revealed. The results can provide valuable theoretical support for the optimization of ship design and anti-icing technology.
