Effect of Flexible Components on Sloshing of Liquid Tank
Liquid tank sloshing may cause strong slamming loads and pose a threat to the safety of bulkhead structures. The traditional method of anti-sloshing is to build various rigid components in the cabin,so a method of building a vertical flexible component in the bilge is proposed for effective anti-sloshing.Based on the finite element method(FEM)and the volume of fluid(VOF)method,a fluid-baffle-liquid tank fluid-solid coupling(FSI)sloshing numerical calculation model is established.Under various excitation conditions, for flexible components with different bending stiffness, the anti-sloshing effect of flexible components is studied by using the mutual transformation between the deformation energy of flexible components and the kinetic energy of sloshing liquid and the constraint effect of components on the free surface of moving liquid. The results show that under the appropriate bending stiffness, the flexible component not only constrains the free surface motion, but also absorbs a large amount of kinetic energy of the sloshing fluid and converts it into deformation energy,so as to achieve better anti-sloshing effect.
