Prediction Method for Motion Response of Icebreakers in Ice Ridge Fields
To ensure the safe and effective exploitation of polar resources,it is essential to analyze the performance of ships navigating in the ice ridge fields.The motion response of a ship in ice ridge fields is studied and simulated.The calculation model of ice resistance on ship and net thrust model are established.In addition,the ship motion equation and probabilistic modeling of the ridge field are combined to predict the ship performance in the ridge field.The effects of several parameters on the ship motion are investigated.The results show that the effect of level ice thickness is significant.
