Influence of Structural Gap on Anti-Ballistic Performance of Composite Target Plate
In order to study the influence of structural gap on the anti-ballistic performance of composite target plates, exploring the response law of the projectile body and the target plate,it provides reference for practical engineering application.the damage deformation state of composite target with four different gap structures under the impact of different projectile velocities is simulated and analyzed by using finite element software, and the variation law of residual velocity of projectile and energy absorption ratio of each component of target is obtained. The results show that the structural gap will affect the anti-ballistic performance of the composite target plate.Under the same projectile velocity, the target plate with structural gap has a smaller residual velocity of the projectile. The role played by the gaps at different positions in different velocity ranges is also different. And the bullet-resistant core layer is the main part of absorbing the kinetic energy of the projectile during the penetration process, and its energy absorption accounts for about 58%during the penetration process of the projectile. The existence of structural gaps between target plates can improve the anti-ballistic performance of target plates.
