Unmanned surface vessels(USVs)are critical to ocean exploration and development,and the availability of safe,reliable,efficient,economical,and repeatable launch and recovery systems is paramount.A comprehensive overview of the latest advances in USV launch and recovery systems is provided,both domestically and internationally.The characteristics of existing USV launch and recovery systems are thoroughly compared and analyzed.In particular,the bracket-hanging type of launch and recovery technology exhibits significant advantages in terms of versatility,cost-effectiveness,and minimal impact on both the mother ship and the inherent structure of USVs.In addition,key technologies of bracket-hanging type USV launch and recovery systems,including recovery guidance and capture docking,are described.The challenges faced in the development of USV launch and recovery technology are summarized,both domestically and internationally.Furthermore,the expected future trends in this field are outlined,providing valuable insights for developers of USV launch and recovery systems.
