Based on the background of the new round of college entrance examination reform,high school English teaching has ushered in new development opportunities,but also faces corresponding challenges.And English reading teaching is not only the focus of the college entrance examination reform,but also an important way to improve students'core competencies.It is necessary to explore a senior middle school English reading teaching model that meets the requirements of the new college entrance examination.On the basis of analyzing the connotation of the new college entrance examination,the requirements of the new college entrance examination for senior middle school English reading teaching,and the challenges faced by senior middle school English teaching,this article explores senior middle school English reading teaching strategies from the perspectives of expanding the scope of reading,applying teaching methods,and establishing evaluation systems,in order to provide suggestions or inspiration for educators.
