Since the outbreak of the Corona Virus Disease 2019(COVID-19),due to the lack of effective treatment and the relative delay in vaccine research and development in Western medicine,traditional Chinese medicine(TCM),which has thousands of years of antiepidemic history and experience,has had great significance and made great contributions to safeguarding the safety and ensuring good health of the world's people.Realgar is one of the commonly used drugs to treat epidemic diseases in ancient times,with a long history of medicinal use.By reviewing the historical origins,usage methods and the rules of compatibility,and combining the modern pharmacological research,this paper looks forward to the application prospects of realgar in the treatment of epidemic diseases,in order to promote the development and application process of realgar in the future,and enrich the methods of prevention and treatment of epidemic diseases.
