Therapeutic effect of combined acupuncture and medication in the treatment of lumbar intervertebral disc herniation complicated with sacroiliac joint disorder
Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of acupuncture reinforcement-reduction manipulation in five-shu points combined with self-simulated Huoxue Tongdu Sanbi decoction in the treatment of lumbar intervertebral disc herniation complicated with sacroiliac joint disorder.Methods A total of 85 patients with lumbar intervertebral disc herniation complicated with sacroiliac joint disorder were randomly divided into the control group and the observation group.The control group(n=43 cases)received conventional treatment,and the observation group(n=42 cases)received acupuncture reinforcement-reduction manipulation in five-shu points combined with self-simulated Huoxue Tondu Sanbi decoction on the basis of the treatment of the control group.The course of treatment of both groups was 4 weeks.The clinical efficacy of two groups was statistically analyzed.Visual Analog Scale(VAS)score,Oswestry Disability Index(ODI)score,Japanese Orthopaedic Association scores(JOA)score and Barthel index score were compared between two groups before and after treatment.The changes of lumbar spine range of motion and imagging indexes were observed in two groups.Results The total effective rate of the observation group was 92.86％(39/42),which was significantly higher than that of the control group[74.42％(32/43)](P＜0.05).Compared with before treatment,after treatment,VAS score,ODI score,difference in transverse diameter of the iliac bone,and difference in hip width in both groups were significantly decreased(P＜0.05),and JOA score,Barthel index score,lumbar extension range of motion and forward flexion range of motion were significantly increased in two groups(P＜0.05).The above indexes in the observation group were better than those in the control group(P＜0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in adverse reactions between two groups(P＞0.05).Conclusion The therapeutic efficacy of acupuncture reinfocement-reduction manipulation in Wu shu points combined with self-simulated Huoxue Tongdu Sanbi decoction in the treatment of lumbar intervertebral disc herniation complicated with sacroiliac joint disorder is satisfactory.It can alleviate the symptoms of low back and leg pain,and also downregulate the expression of inflammatory analgesic mediators,which is conducive to the improvement of lumbar spine function and daily activity ability.This therapy is relatively safe.
