Professor Liu Yushu believes that the pathogenesis of pediatric asthma is futan in the body,the trigger touched.The key to the pathogenesis lies in futan,phlegm and qi compete in the airways,leading to asthma.The clinical practice proposes the treatment method that combines the regulation of zang fu viscera,qi and blood,and yin yang.Prescriptions often use herb couples and animal medicine.Clinical treatment adheres to the principle of reinforcement and elimination in combination during the onset of asthma in children to dispel wind and stop asthma,and eliminate pathogens from lung for removing phlegm;and deficiency and excess with the same severity occurring at the same time during the prolonged period for eliminating pathogen and strengthening vital qi;and during the remission period,qi,phlegm,and blood stasis treated together to strengthen vital qi and eliminate pathogen,in order to consolidate body resistance and prevent recurrence.
