Using a case of diabetes mellitus type2 compliated with multiple metabolic disturbance in Department of Endocrinology of Guang'anmen Hospital as an example,Academician Tong Xiaolin is invited to make the teaching ward round. During the round,Academician Tong elaborates on the understanding of traditional Chinese medicine,the development and outcome of the disease,and key points of diagnosis and treatment of early and middle stage of diabetes mellitus type2 with multiple metabolic disturbance. Academician Tong emphasizes that obesity is the cornerstone of Pidan,diabetes should be treated according to the classification-staging-syndrome differentiation,and diabetes mellitus type2 combined with metabolic-associated fatty liver disease needs to be treated with high blood sugar and liver disease together. In terms of treatment,attention should be paid to the use of targeted prescriptions and drugs,effective dosage,prevention of result and states,prevention and treatment of damage pulse,and state-target treatment based on syndrome differentiation to improve clinical efficacy.
