Clinical observation on the combination of press-needle and acupoint-tuina in the treatment of adolescent pseudomyopia
Objective To retrospectively analyze the clinical efficacy of press-needle combined with acupoint-tuina in the treatment of pseudomyopia in adolescents. Methods 104 cases (104 eyes) with mixed pseudomyopia and simple pseudomyopia were randomly divided into the treatment group (n=53) and the control group (n=51). The treatment group received press-needle combined with acupoint-tuina treatment. The control group adjusted their vision by improving their daily life and study habits. Both groups were treated for one course of treatment (4 weeks). The total effective rates of two groups were compared. The naked visual acuity levels before and after treatment between two groups were compared. The diopters of pseudomyopia of two groups before and after treatment were compared. Adverse reactions during treatment between two groups were compared. Results The total effective rate of the treatment group (90.56%) was significantly higher than that of the control group (64.71%),and there was statistically significant difference (P<0.05). After treatment, the naked visual acuity levels and diopters of pseudomyopia in both groups were better than before treatment, and the treatment group was even better than the control group, and there was statistically significant diffeence (P<0.05). During the treatment, neither group experienced any adverse reactions, and there was no pain or discomfort. Conclusion Press-needle combined with acupoint-tuina is effective in the treatment of adolescent pseudomyopia.
