Through the investigation of ancient books and the sorting of the modern research achievements of traditional Chinese medicine,combined with the understanding and application experience of well-known experts and scholars in desciplinary fields such as traditional Chinese medicine clinical medicine and science of Chinese materia medica,it is concluded that densefruit pittany root-bark mainly has the effects of clearing heat and removing dampness,and dispelling wind-evil and removing toxicity.The symptom target is itching.Modern pharmacological studies have found that densefruit pittany root-bark and its active ingredients have anti-allergic,anti-fungal,anti-inflammatory,antioxidant,anti-tumor,hemostatic,neuroprotective effects.When taken orally,densefruit pittany root-bark may damage the liver,so it should be used reasonably.The clinical decoction dosage is usually 5-30 g,and external dosage is 15-100 g.It should not be taken in large doses for a long time.
