Influence of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine rehabilitation on incomplete spinal cord injury
Objective To explore the influence of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine rehabilitation on patients with incomplete spinal cord injury(ISCI).Methods 64 patients with ISCI were selected and divided into the observation group and the control group according to random number table method, with 32 cases in each group. The control group received routine physical therapy and rehabilitation training, while the observation group received acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine characteristic function training on the basis of the treatment of the control group.By evaluating the changes of American Spinal Injury Association Motor Score(ASIA-MS),Visual Analogue Scale(VAS),Activities of Daily Living(ADL),10 Meter Fastest Walking Speed Test(10MWT),6-minutes Walk Test(6MWT),Time Up and Go Test(TUGT)and Berg Balance Scale(BBS),the rehabilitation effects of two groups were analyzed. Results After 4 weeks of rehabilitation treatment,in the observation group the ASIA-MS score and ADL score were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05),while the VAS score was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).At 4,6 and 8 weeks of treatment,in the observation group the 10MWT was lower than that in control group(P<0.05),while the 6MWT was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).At 8 weeks of treatment, the TUGT in the observation group was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).At 8 and 12 weeks of treatment, the BBS scores in the observation group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine rehabilitation treatment is beneficial to the nerve regeneration and repair of ISCI,and can promote the improvement of walking ability and balance ability.
