Effect of Chinese herbal enema combined with external medicinal liquid application on itching index and renal function indicators in patients with chronic renal failure
Objective To explore the clinical efficacy and safety of Chinese herbal enema combined with external medicinal liquid application on itch of skin(blood deficiency, rheumatism, syndrome of stasis toxin)in patients with chronic renal failure(CRF 3-5 stage). Methods This study adopted the multicenter, randomized controlled trial principle.A total of 90 cases were enrolled, and the treatment course was 4 weeks for all cases. The selected patients were divided into the control group and the experiment group according to random number table method, with 45 cases in each group. The control group received basic Western medicine treatment, and the experiment group received basic Western medicine treatment plus Chinese herbal enema combined with external medicinal liquid application. The effects of itch of skin, renal function, and sleep quality before and after treatment in two groups were observed, and the levels of indicators such as blood routine, alanine aminotransferase, calcium phosphate, and parathuyroid hormone were observed.Clinical efficacy and safety were evaluated. Results The total effective rate of the experiment group was 88.8%,while that of the control group was 44.4%.After treatment, the levels of hemoglobin, creatinine, urea nitrogen,β2 microglobulin and phosphorus in the experiment group were significantly improved. There were no abnormlities in safety indicators such as platelets,glutamic-pyruvic transaminase and blood calcium in both groups. Conclusion Herbal enema combined with external medicinal liquid application is effective and safe in the treatment of itch of skin in patients with chronic renal failure, and can effectively improve pruritus and renal function in patients.
