Observation of the therapeutic effect of Huoxue Xiaozheng formula combined with herbal cake separated moxibustion on period regulation and treatment of dysmenorrhea in patients with adenomyosis of kidney deficiency and blood stasis type
Objective To explore the effect of period regulation and treatment of dysmenorrhea in adenomyosis(kidney deficiency and blood stasis)with the combination of Huoxue Xiaozheng formula and herbal cake separated moxibustion on clinical symptoms and uterine volume.Methods 122 patients with dysmenorrhea caused by adenomyosis who visited the First Affiliated Hospital of Fuyang Normal University/Fuyang Women and Children's Hospital from October 2020 to October 2022 were divided into the control group and the observation group according to random number table method,with 61 cases in each group.The control group received period treatment with herbal cake separated moxibustion,and the observation group received period treatment with the combination of Huoxue Xiaozheng formula and herbal cake separated moxibustion.The clinical efficacy,clinical symptoms,dysmenorrhea,levels of pain related factors before and after treatment,uterine volume,endometrial thickness,levels of sex hormones and adverse reactions were compared between two groups.Results The total effective rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).After 3 menstrual cycles of treatment,scores of symptoms,Cox Menstrual Symptom Scale(CMSS)scores,pain duration,Visual Analogue Scale(VAS)scores,prostaglandin F2alpha(PGF2α)and substance P(SP)levels,uterine volume,endometrial thickness,levels of follicle stimulating hormone(FSH)and luteinizing hormone(LH)in the observation group were lower than those in the control group,while levels of serum β-endorphin(β-EP)and estradiol(E2)were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion The combinaton of Huoxue Xiaozheng formula and herbal cake separated moxibustion for period treatment of dysmenorrhea caused by adenomyosis(kidney deficiency and blood stasis)has the definite therapeutic effect,which can relieve clinical symptoms,improve dysmenorrhea,regulate levels of pain related factors,reduce uterine volume and endometrial thickness,and regulate expressions of sex hormones.
