Therapeutic effect of Sanjie Xiaoying Formula on thyroid nodules(syndrome of phlegm binding and blood stasis)and its influence on thyroid function
Objective To explore the therapeutic effect of Sanjie Xiaoying Formula on thyroid nodules(syndrome of phlegm binding and blood stasis)and its influence on thyroid function.Methods 70 patients with thyroid nodules admitted to Tongling City Maternal and Child Health Hospital were selected and randomly divided into the control group and the observation group.The control group received dynamic observation,and the observation group received combined treatment with Sanjie Xiaoying Formula,both groups were treated continuously for 8 weeks.Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)syndrome scores,ultrasonic indicators(maximum transverse diameter of thyroid nodules,the value and proportion of reduction in maximum transverse diameter),thyroid function indicators[free triiodothyronine(FT3),free tetraiodothyronine(FT4),thyroid-stimulating hormone(TSH)],and thyroid autoantibodies[thyroid peroxidase antibody(TPoAb),thyroglobulin antibody(TgAb)]levels before and after treatment in two groups were observed,and the total clinical effective rate and treatment safety between two groups were compared.Results After treatment,various TCM syndrome scores,maximum transverse diameter of thyroid nodules,and levels of TgAb and TPoAb decreased in both groups(P<0.05),and the observation group was lower than the control group(P<0.05);The value and proportion of reduction in maximum transverse diameter of thyroid nodules in both groups increased(P<0.05),and the observation group was higher than the control group(P<0.05).After treatment,the levels of FT3 and FT4 in the observation group increased(P<0.05),while TSH level decreased(P<0.05).There was no significant change in thyroid function indicators in the control group before and after treatment(P>0.05).The total effective rate of the observation group was 88.6%,and the total effecive rate of the control group was 68.6%,and the observation group was higher than the control group(P<0.05).Both groups did not experience any adverse reactions related to medication.Conclusion Sanjie Xiaoying Formula has the significant effect in the treatment of thyroid nodules(syndrome of phlegm binding and blood stasis),which can alleviate clinical symptoms and improve thyroid function.
