In"Mingyi Bielu",great burdock achene is classified as a medium grade[drug],with a pungent,bitter,and cold nature and taste.It can dispel wind pathogens,clear heat and remove toxicity,and treat exogenous febrile diseases and the initial onset of warm diseases.It is a necessary medicine for preventing and treating epidemic diseases.Based on ancient and modem literature and modern pharmacology,this paper sorts out the treatment of epidemic diseases with great burdock achene,and explores the theoretical basis of this therapy,in order to provide reference for clinical prevention and treatment of epidemic diseases.
