Clinical efficacy of fire needle combined with acupoint bloodletting therapy in the treatment of acute herpes zoster
Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of fire needle combined with acupoint bloodletting therapy in the treatment of acute herpes zoster. Methods A total of 120 patients with acute herpes zoster were selected and divided into the control group and the observation group according to random number table method, with 60 cases in each group. The control group received conventional Western medicine treatment, while the observation group received fire needle combined with acupoint bloodletting therapy. The pain disappearance time, blister stopping time, time to form the scab, and time for scar detachment were compared between two groups. The changes in Visual Analogue Scale(VAS)scores, serum substance P level, mature T lymphocytes(CD3+),inducible T cells/helper T cells(CD4+),CD8+levels before and after treatment between two groups were compared.Incidence of postherpetic neuralgia and the total effective rate of clinical efficacy between two groups were compared. Results After treatment, the pain disappearance time, blister stopping time, time to form the scab, and time for scar detachment,CD8+level,VAS score, and serum substance P level in the observation group were shorter or lower than those in the control group(P<0.05);The levels of CD3+and CD4+were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05);The incidence of postherpetic neuralgia in the observation group(6.67%,4/60)was lower than that in the control group(25.00%,15/60)(P<0.05).The total effective rate of clinical efficacy(88.33%,53/60)in the observation group was higher than that in the control group(65.00%,39/60)(P<0.05).Conclusion The combination of fire needle and acupoint bloodletting therapy can shorten the disappearance time of various discomfort symptoms, alleviate pain, improve immune levels and serum substance P level, reduce the risk of postherpetic neuralgia, and enhance the response rate in patients with acute herpes zoster. It is worthy of clinical promotion.
