Therapeutic effect of Wenshen Huatan Quyu decoction combined with conventional Western medicine on polycystic ovary syndrome
Objective To explore and analyze the effect of Wenshen Huatan Quyu decoction combined with conventional Western medicine treatment on levels of hormones and insulin resistance in patients with polycystic ovarian syndrome(PCOS).Methods A total of 124 patients with PCOS were selected and divided into the control group and the study group according to random envelope method,with 62 cases in each group.The control group was treated with conventional Western medicine Diane-35+metformin,while the study group was treated with Wenshen Huatan Quyu decoction on the basis of the treatment of the control group.The treatment lasted for 3 menstrual cycles.Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)syndrome scores,sex hormone levels,and islet indicator levels were compared between two groups.The therapeutic efficacy and the incidence of adverse reactions were compared between two groups.Results The total effective rate in the study group(96.77%,60/62)was higher than that in the control group(85.48%,53/62)(P<0.05).After treatment,the scores of TCM syndromes,and levels of luteinizing hormone(LH),testosterone(TT),free testosterone(FT),fasting blood glucose(FBG),fasting insulin(FINS),and homeostasis model assessment of insulin resistance(HOMA-IR)in two groups were decreased,and the study group was lower than the control group(P<0.05);The levels of follicle stimulating hormone(FSH)and estradiol(E2)were increased,and the study group was higher than the control group(P<0.05);There was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of adverse drug reactions between two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion Wenshen Huatan Quyu decoction combined with conventional Western medicine has significant clinical efficacy in the treatment of PCOS,can alleviate symptoms,improve hormone levels and insulin resistance levels of patients,and has high safety.
