Preparation and Performance Exploration of pH Sensing Intelligent Textiles
In order to achieve accurate and convenient measurement of environmental pH value,a pH sens-ing intelligent textile was prepared.Firstly,the nanofiber membranes R-PAN-TPU and B-PAN-TPU with pH color-changing function were fabricated by separately blending Congo red and Bromophenol blue pH indicators with polyacrylonitrile(PAN)and thermoplastic polyurethane(TPU)polymer materials by electrospinning tech-nology.Then the nanofiber membranes were further combined with cotton(Cell)substrate fabric by hot pressing method to obtain pH sensing intelligent textiles R-PAN-TPU-Cell and B-PAN-TPU-Cell.After testing,the Congo red-based pH sensor R-PAN-TPU-Cell displayed obvious blue-purple color when contacting pH 3-5 acid solution while no color change was observed when contacting pH 9~12 alkaline solution.The Bromophenol blue-based pH sensor B-PAN-TPU-Cell exhibited a vibrant yellow hue upon contact with acid solutions within the pH range of 3~5,and transitioned to a purple color when exposed to alkaline solutions with pH values ran-ging from 9~12.The intelligent textile-based pH sensor not only demonstrates its effectiveness in early warning and protection within the realm of environmental monitoring,but also possesses the characteristic of recyclable u-tilization.
