The Communist Party of China (CPC) has achieved theoretical innovation in self-reform by integrating Marxism with the fine traditional Chinese culture,referred to as the "Second Combination". The ideas of "innovation","continuous self-improvement","inner saints and outer kings" and "upright self-cultivation" in the fine traditional Chinese culture breed the ideological seeds of self-reform. The principles of dialectical materialism,the assertion of the "two breaks" and the doctrine of Party building contain the original form of self-reform. The theoretical innovation of self-reform,achieved through the "Second Combination",emphasizes "internal focus with internal and external balance","rigidity with a combination of rigidity and flexibility",and "change with a balance of change and stability". Self-reform,as the theoretical innovation of the "Second Combination",embodies the organic unity of the people's wisdom and the Party's experience,the organic unity of heritage and innovation,and the organic unity of problem-oriented and goal-oriented approaches.
