Disasters are the great enemies of humanity,and effective prevention and control of disasters are of great significance for national stability,social peace,and people's well-being.Mao Zedong,starting from special historical conditions,proposed many positive and effective disaster prevention and control measures in leading China's disaster prevention,reduction,and relief work,accumulated basic experience in responding to and managing disasters,and gradually formed a rich and scientific disaster prevention and control thought.This not only played an irreplaceable role in the practice of disaster prevention,reduction,and relief at that time,but also provided reference for how to ensure the effective disaster prevention and control in the new era and new journey.
