Discovery of an early Cambrian aulacogen from western Hubei to eastern Chongqing, and a preliminary study of its evolution
According to seismic profiles, aeromagnetic data, drilling data, and field outcrops,an aulacogen from western Hubei to eastern Chongqing has been found, which is located in the eastern part of Sichuan Basin. In this work,we define the western boundary of the aulacogen, and demonstrate its evolutionary process and formation mechanism in detail.During sedimentation of the Qiongzhusi Formation, the aulacogen was distributed along the northeast direction, with its western boundary located between the Jiaoshi 1 well and Li 1 well, and its eastern boundary lay between the Yidi 4 well and Yidi 3 well.During the sedimentary period of the Canglangpu Formation, after filling and leveling, the thickness range of the aulacogen significantly reduced, and the subsidence center moved from the Changsheng 1 well to the Ecan 1 well in the northeast.During the sedimentary period of the Longwangmiao Formation, the thickness of the stratum changed very little, indicating that the sedimentary period of the Qiongzhusi Formation and Canglangpu Formation mainly consisted of filling and leveling of the aulacogen.During the sedimentary period of the Canglangpu Formation,high-quality source rock developed in the Gaoqiao area of the aulacogen. In the relatively shallow Shuangliuba area,high-quality reservoir rocks developed.
