Focusing Light through Scattering Media by Ant Colony Algorithm
Focusing light through scattering media is an important goal in optical communication and bioimaging.Since the components of the scattering mediumare highly heterogeneous, light transport in such media experiences multiple scattering.A very challenging problem in such a process is to find the right wave front of the incident light. In this pa-per,an ant colony algorithm is exploited to optimize the phase distribution of the incident wavefront. It is found that the enhancement of the focus obtained by the ant colony algorithm is higher than the focus obtained by the genetic algorithm. The accuracy and stability of the ant colony algorithm are verified using both numerical simulation and experiment. Therefore,in the study of light focusing or imaging, the ant colony algorithm should be considered first.
