Abstract
This paper summarizes the application of virtual reality technology in tourism, such as vir-tual tourism, travelling beyond time and space constraints, virtual development, the need to protect tourism resources, display of cultural relics, tourism planning, tourism marketing and publicity, and assessment of tourism regional impact.
