Imperative Clarification of base numbers of Chinese grassland
There are many problems in the protection and establishment of Chinese grasslands. The current basic situations of Chinese grassland are not clear such as actual acreage proportion, animal and plant resources status, deterioration and variation condition, stocking capacity, eco-economical value, commercial production, water conservation and carbon storage capacity of grassland ecosystem, sand-fixing capacity, the contribution to increasing herdsmen's income, profit in agricultural industry, total population status, and the number of herdsmen and national minority, etc. Therefore, base numbers should be clarified by deep investigation and objectively analysis aimed to provide basic evidences for Chinese grassland's further development.
