Analysis of Sexual Reproduction of Leymus chinensis with Different Leaf Colors under Heterogeneous Habitat
Quantitative properties and reproductive allocation of Leymus chinensis with different leaf colors under different soil types were studied in natural steppes of Changling, Tumuji and Guyuan. Results showed that sexual reproductive characteristics and biomass allocation of Leymus chinensis with different leaf colors had flexibility changes under heterogeneous habitat. Leymus chinensis with different leaf colors under different soil type in Guyuan area had maximum spike length, spike weight, spikelet numbers, grain numbers and weights per spike, seeds-setting percentage, reproductive allocation I , II and III. Thousand-seed weights of Leymus chinensis with different leaf colors had smaller changes. There were significant or extremely significant changes between the maximum and the minimum weights of stem, sheath, leaf and total tillers of Leymus chinensis either with different leaf colors in the same soil type or with the same leaf color under different soil types. Stem weight of Leymus chinensis with different leaf colors had the most changes compared with sheath weight and leaf weight under heterogeneous habitats. Therefore Leymus chinensis with different leaf colors showed an adjustment strategy based on sexual reproduction and resource allocation under heterogeneous habitats.
