Feeding Value Assessment of Tephrosia candida Pellet Feed on Meat Rabbits
In order to assess the feeding value of Tephrosia candida meal on meat rabbits, sixty New Zealand rabbits divided into five groups were fed using meal containing 0%,10%,20%,30% and 40%T.candida,respectively.Then nutrient components, average daily intake, daily weight gain, feed conversion ratio and slaughtering performance were determined. Results showed that the crude protein content of T.candida in the stage of vegetative period was 17.77 %.The apparent digestibility of crude protein of T.candida was 78.09%.The total digestible nutrition was 56.18%.The daily weight gain of tested rabbits achieved 20.80 g · d-1,the feed convectional ratio was 4.45 ∶ 1,the slaughtering rate was 57.78% and the unit weight gain cost had extremely significant difference comparing to control group when 20% T.candida was added (P<0.05).Therefore,the pellet feed adding 20% T.candida could improve the producing performance and the profit of meat rabbits.
