Effects of Sward Cleavage Treatment on Vegetation Characteristics under Different Terrain in Alpine Meadows-steppe
Effects of sward cleavage on vegetation community characters and underground biomass were determined and conducted in the area of ground and slop, which was located in Eastern Alpine Meadowsteppe of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. The results showed that the improving effect of sward cleavage on the soil water content of the ground was significantly higher than slop. Also,it was increased to the original dominant species and height of Gramineae grass in the area of ground, but reduced the original dominant species and height of cyperaceae in slope. Moreover, the density of gramineous grass was significantly increased, but the density of the miscellaneous grass decreased in the area of ground and slop after treated by the method of sward cleavage, compared with control. The biomass of miscellaneous grass in the area of ground and slop were decreased by sward cleavage, and the underground or aboveground biomass was significantly higher than control, especially the biomass of Gramineae grass was significantly higher in ground. Therefore,it is indicated that the method of sward cleavage will be considered as an effective improving method in ground, but it limited in slop.In addition,we should select different methods in different local areas, and consider the constraint conditions practically while choosing the sward cleavage method to improve different terrain of Alpine Meadows-steppe.
