Current status and correlation analysis of volunteer motivation and coping style of hospital psychological assistance hotline operators
Objective:To investigate the current status of volunteer motivation and coping style of hospital psychological assistance hotline operators,and analyze the correlation between the two.Methods:From November to December 2022,118 psychological assistance hotline operators from a 3A hospital in Hunan Province were selected as the research subjects.A survey was conducted using the volunteer motivation scale and trait coping style questionnaire.The results were analyzed for a correlation anlysis.Results:102 valid questionnaires were collected,and the total score of volunteer motivation among 102 hospital psychological assistance hotline operators was(5.87±0.63)points.The differences in learning comprehension and self-enhancement scores among operators with different fertility conditions were statistically significant,the differences in self-protection scores among operators with different years of service were statistically significant,and the differences in career scores among operators from different departments were statistically significant(all P＜0.05).Positive coping was positively correlated with the total score of voluntary motivation(r=0.560,P＜0.01),while negative coping was negatively correlated with the total score of voluntary motivation(r=-0.308,P＜0.05).Conclusion:The motivation of hospital psychological assistance hotline operators to participate in volunteer services is diverse,and volunteer motivation is positively correlated with positive coping style.Enhancing the positive coping of operators is beneficial for improving their volunteer motivation.
