Learning curve analysis of stoma care operation of primary caregivers of patients with temporary ileostomy
Objective:To construct a learning curve of stoma care operation of primary caregivers of patients with temporary ileostomy, and provide reference for stoma care operation training of primary caregivers. Methods:The primary caregivers of patients who underwent temporary ileostomy for the first time in a 3A hospital from June to December 2022 were selected as the research objects. The operation time, operation score, and operation qualification rate of stoma care of the research objects were recorded. The learning curve was drawn by using cumulative sum analysis method. Results:When the slope(K)of the individual learning curve of the stoma care operation started to be negative,48 primary caregivers performed 3-13 times. There was a statistically significant difference in corresponding operation times when K was negative in the individual learning curve of the primary caregivers with different educational backgrounds(P<0.05).The minimum number of times to master the care operation skills of temporary ileostomy was 7 times. Conclusion:The primary caregiver needs to practice at least 7 times to master stoma care.Compared to primary school educated individuals, primary caregivers with a college degree or above are able to proficiently master operations with less practice.
