Cognitive Approach to the Spatial Morphology of Traditional Huizhou Urban Fringe Space Based on Hi-erarchical Structure Theory
In this paper, the interpretation of natural landscapes and rural elements was integrated into the morphological research of urban fringe space. The research and design of Shan-shui City, especially the characteristics of Huizhou's landscape, were adopted into the morphological analysis to optimize the Western urban morphology's expression of the form of traditional Huizhou's urban fringe space.Ultimately,an analysis method for interactive coupling between urban, rural, and ecological spaces was established.Based on the analysis of the morphology of towns, villages, and farmland on the outskirts of Xiuning County,a hierarchical structure system of seven levels,namely"materials-structures-rooms-buildings-plots-plot series-planning units"was proposed. That provides a path and platform for the study of complex fringe spaces with multiple elements overlapping and provides a foundation for the cognitive interpretation and planning design of Shan-shui City.
