Commercialized Regeneration Patterns of Historic District:A Case Study of Xiaoxihu Historical District in Nanjing
In the new era of continuous socio-economic transformation, exploring the implementation mechanisms and spatial scenario construction paths of commercialized regeneration of urban historic districts can contribute to promoting sustainable operation of urban regeneration and high-quality urban development. In this paper, based on the Trinitarian Dialectic Theory of spatial production,an analytical framework for the commercialized regeneration patterns of historic districts was constructed to analyze the practical difficulties faced in regeneration practices.By taking the Xiaoxihu Historic District in Nanjing as an example, the mechanisms of the regeneration and the laws of commercial space transformation were investigated through field surveys. With the analytical framework, the regeneration patterns from the perspective of spatial production were further evaluated and analyzed. The results can provide theoretical tools and implementation paths for cultural preservation and functional revival of historic districts.
