Evolution Characteristics and Mechanism of Innovation Network in the Beijing-Tianjin-Langfang Trans-boundary Region
Transboundary regions are the leading areas of regional integration breaking the boundary constraint and strengthening the orderly and free flow of factors are the keys to transboundary development. In this paper, the evolution characteristics and mechanism of the innovation network based on 110 street and town units in 8 districts and counties of the Beijing-Tianjin-Langfang Transboundary Region were analyzed based on the patent transfer data from 2011 to 2020.The results show that there is an increasing number of innovation exchanges among the towns and streets in the region;the scale and distribution of innovation links grow, and the distribution tends to be wider;and the innovation network gradually expands from a radial spatial framework to a diamond-shaped spatial structure. This region is in the early stage of innovation integration development, transboundary clusters are beginning to take shape with the continuous flow of innovation factors.Innovation factors gradually show a tendency to gather in the economic and technological development zones. The transboundary linkage type units can be categorized into four types, including contralateral agglomeration type, contralateral diffusion type, reverse agglomeration type, and reverse diffusion type. There are differences in the spatial distribution and evolution mechanism of these units. The purpose of this paper is to explore the spatial distribution characteristics of these units and their influence mechanisms, which will help to in-depth understand the dynamic structure of innovation clusters in transboundary regions and will play an important role in strengthening the bidirectional and orderly flow of innovation factors in transboundary regions, and in promoting the collaborative development of innovation in the new era.
