The Impact Analysis of the Code-Carrier Inconsistency on Precise Point Positioning of Android Mobile Phones
The open access to raw Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) observations brings new opportunities to the development of Android smartphone precise positioning tech-nology. However, limited by the low-cost GNSS chips and linearly polarized antennas integrated inside smartphones, the GNSS observations of smartphones have different error char-acteristics than traditional measurement receivers, among which the code-carrier inconsistency error is an important fac-tor affecting the GNSS positioning accuracy. Based on the Huawei P40 mobile phones, this article conducts a detailed analysis of the code-carrier inconsistency errors characteristics from its GNSS observations and proposes a solution, devoted as online calibration scheme for the code-carrier inconsistency errors. Positioning experiments show that the positioning ac-curacy of the online calibration solution is approximately 0.399 m respectively, which is improved by one order of mag-nitude when compared with the result without considering the code-carrier inconsistency error.
