Dynamic Under-balanced Pressure Perforating Technology and Its Application
Dynamic under-balanced pressure perforating is a new method for cleaning up perforations immediately after perforating. By the rapid absorption of the residual explosion energy within the wellbore, the wellbore pressure decreases rapidly, and with the fast back surge flow created by the dynamic under-balanced pressure differential, the perforations and crushed zone can be cleaned. The fluid flow, which enters into perforating gun from the wellbole after perforating, can be increased by appropriately increasing the number and size of the perforation hole, so as to make the dynamic under-balanced pressure amplitude stronger. The action time of the dynamic under-balanced pressure is extended by increasing the perforating gun inner space. It has no use for decreasing the initial fluid height, and makes the perforating preparation much simpler. Experimental applications in 9 production wells show that fluid producing intensity increases 7% by using dynamic under-balance pressure perforating technology.
