The Establishment and Development of Disability Factories in the Period of the Republic of China
In the period of the Republic of China,the establishment of disability factories was mostly related to the background of the emergence of a large number of militaries and civilians with war-related disabilities,and joint influences produced by the promotion of recent special education,the stimulation of successful experiences of foreign disability factories,the emerged public opinions on aiding persons with disabilities and so on.In this case,the government,civil societies,philanthropists,special education schools,persons with disabilities and other parties were motivated to build and develop disability factories.These disability factories often set up a basic functional organization,formulated a series of rules and regulations,and gradually constructed a complete operation system,but they were challenged by funding and daily management problems.The experiences and lessons derived from the development of these factories,to some extent,verify the real state of the development of the cause of providing aid for persons with disabilities at that time,which was advanced but still in urgent need of improvement.
