An Automatic Rehabilitation Evaluation Method of Hand Function Based on Attitude and Force Measurement
About 70%of post-stroke patients have hand dysfunction and need long-term rehabilitation treat-ment.Rehabilitation evaluation is the scientific basis for the formulation of rehabilitation treatment programs. The clinical hand function assessment requires experienced doctors to guide patients to complete the target task in the process of evaluation and its scoring mechanism is subjective and lasts for a long time. The whole evalua-tion process is not only laborious, but also complex, which reduces the comfort of patients. There is still a lack of accurate automatic evaluation system of hand function at present. The development of objective, quantitative and reliable measuring equipment to realize the automatic evaluation of hand function is of great significance in rehabilitation. Therefore,an automatic Fugl-Meyer hand function evaluation system based on flexible array pres-sure sensor(FAPS)and RGBD camera is proposed. The system uses Leap Motion binocular vision sensor to track the movement posture of the hand/wrist,attaches the FAPS to five grasping tools to record the force infor-mation of the hand part of the five grasping methods. An upper machine plateform including teching video is designed to guide patients'rehabilitation assessment actions. The features of motion posture and force informa-tion are extracted respectively, and a classification method based on different logic rules is designed to evaluate each movement.Preliminary experiments are conducted, and the results show that this method can be used for rehabilitation evaluation of hand motor function.
