Entrainment and dispersing behavior of high-iron red mud smelting reduction material under mechanical stirring
High-iron red mud can be used to obtain molten iron and reduced slag after high-temperature melting, which can be applied as raw materials for steelmaking and cement,to achieve resource utilization.Aiming at how to break through the problem of highly efficient entrainment and dispersion of materials in the smelting reduction process of high-iron red mud,the high-speed camera and particle image velocimeter with other analysis techniques have been utilized to study the effects of different stirring paddle types, impeller off-bottom clearance, eccentric distance, blade diameter, stirring speed on fluid flow state and material distribution behavior in smelting reduction of high-speed red mud process. The results show that the VB stirring paddle is better for entrainment, which is positively correlated with the stirring speed.Material entrainment can be enhanced by increasing the diameter of the agitator and the distance from the bottom.Properly increasing the eccentricity improves the dispersion effect of the material.
