Numerical simulation of residual stress in hot strip rolling process
The inhomogeneous distribution of longitudinal residual stress along the width in strip steel could cause flatness defects and seriously affect the strip shape quality. In the traditional analytical methods of residual stress, the effect of lateral metal flow is usually neglected. In order to solve this problem, based on a 1780 mm hot rolling line,a three-dimensional elastic-plastic finite element calculation model has been established in this paper. The effect of lateral metal flow on residual stress is fully considered. The evolution of residual stress between stands and the residual stress state of strip steel with different proportions of unit crown variation has been investigated. It is found that residual stress reverses between stands.Secondly,it is found that the lateral metal flow reduces the longitudinal strain difference and the longitudinal residual compressive stress, which can be minimized when the unit crown increases to 0.5%~1.15%.
