Fault diagnosis and fault tolerant control for drive motor of distributed drive vehicles:current developments and future prospects
Thanks to their compact structures, efficient transmission, and flexible control, etc., the distributed drive electric vehicles take the lead in the development of new energy electric vehicles. However, this redundant drive system is equipped with multiple actuators, making it prone to faults that easily disrupt the vehicle' s dynamic behaviors, thus affecting its safety and robustness. Therefore, the overall vehicle control with fault-tolerant techniques has gained extensive attention from scholars across the globe. This paper analyzes the recent developments and research achievements in motor fault diagnosis and vehicle fault-tolerant control techniques. From the perspective of faults that consider motor winding short circuit and permanent magnet demagnetization, the typical diagnostic strategies based on signal extraction and intelligent identification are explained, and the technical challenges associated with different diagnostic methods are summarized. Finally, we envison the development of key technologies related to fault diagnosis and fault-tolerant control for drive motors.
