An equivalent damage assessment algorithm for aircraft structure in flight subjects
Aircraft service life consumption usually adopts the method of fleet life monitoring, but the actual service life of the aircraft structure is affected by the actual flight condition.Significant variability in fatigue load spectrum across flight subjects leads to different fatigue damage. With the consideration of the flight subjects, this paper proposes an equivalent damage assessment algorithm for aircraft structures.Based on the flight parameters, an equivalent damage calculation model is built. An empirical validation of this model is conducted with the structural equivalent damage across different flight subjects in a fleet within one year, which reveals significant differences in equivalent damage across different flight subjects are evident in this aircraft type. Moreover, compared with low overload flight subjects, high overload flight subjects are less sensitive to the filtering threshold.Based on the characteristics of different flight subjects of this type of aircraft, we analyze and select the appropriate filtering threshold and sampling rate on condition that the damage calculation error is less than 1%.The amount of data calculation is reduced by over 50%.
