Research progress and prospect of domestic wastewater treatment technology enhanced by adding solid carbon sources
The low carbonization of wastewater in China has caused the low efficiency of biological nitrogen removal technology.The solid carbon source,as a carrier,provides an electron donor to enhance the denitrification process.However,there are few systematic reviews on solid carbon sources' performances in application,microbial mechanism,empirical model and potential challenges.This paper divides solid carbon sources into synthetic,natural and blended categories and then investigates the factors affecting the application of these three types of carbon sources.Then,it proposes a more efficient operation strategy.A review of the microbial mechanism and empirical model show further research is still needed.To address the challenges faced by wastewater treatment in metal industrial parks and mines,it puts forward some countermeasures and suggestions. This paper may provide some references for the application and improvement of this technology.
