The construction of a unified labor market and the continued decrease in labor supply have intensified competition and"internal competition"in different industries and fields,posing new requirements for the adaptability of human capital structure.Based on the question of whether the construction of a unified labor market is conducive to the upgrading of human capital structure,this paper elaborates on its impact mechanism and effect from two aspects:direct and indirect influences.The research finds that the construction of a unified labor market significantly promotes the advancement of regional human capital structure.This promotion relies mainly on the advancement of industrial structure,the stimulation of innovation and entrepreneurship vitality,and the effective governance efficiency of proactive government.Further exploration reveals that the reform of the household registration system has a dual reinforcement effect on promoting the advancement of human capital structure in the construction of a unified labor market.Heterogeneity analysis shows that the construction of a unified labor market plays an important role in"raising the upper limit and improving the lower limit"of human capital structure advancement,and its impact varies due to differences in regional factors,urban hierarchy,human capital,and industrial structure.Therefore,efforts should be made in various regions to accelerate the coordination and promotion of institutional safeguards for the construction of a unified labor market,remove barriers to the free flow of labor factors,enhance the"quality"of human capital,and ensure the high-quality coordinated development of orderly and benign competition.
