The spatio-temporal evolution and driving factors of the coupling coordination between digital economy and carbon environmental governance in the Yangtze River Economic Belt
Digital economy promotes economic transformation and upgrading and enhances international competitiveness through innovative business models and digital production methods. However, the traditional digital economic model relies on a large number of energy-consuming and high-carbon emission industries. The rapid development of these industries has brought huge energy consumption and environmental pressure, posing serious challenges to global climate change and the ecological environment. In order to achieve a win-win situation between economic growth and environmental protection, the top priority is to change the traditional model and accelerate the comprehensive green transformation of the digital economy.First of all, building Digital China is an important engine driving China's modernization in the context of the digital era.Secondly,we must solidly promote the protection and restoration of the Yangtze River's ecological environment, actively promote the comprehensive green transformation of economic and social development, and better support and serve China's modernization. Therefore, when promoting the high-quality development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt,we should attach great importance to and place the construction of ecological civilization in a prominent position. While vigorously developing the digital economy,we should improve our ability to manage external problems caused by carbon emissions, and comprehensively promote the digital economy.In-depth integration with carbon environmental governance. Therefore, based on existing academic achievements and taking the Yangtze River Economic Belt as the research object, this paper establishes an evaluation index system for the coupling and coordination degree of digital economy and carbon environment governance, and uses quantitative analysis methods to systematically evaluate the dynamic changes of digital economy and carbon environment governance in the basin from 2013 to 2021.The spatio-temporal evolution characteristics of the development level and the coupling and coordination relationship. On this basis,we further expand our research perspective and focus on exploring the core factors that drive the formation and development of the coupling and coordination relationship between these two systems, aiming to reveal the dynamic mechanism and influencing factors behind them.First,an evaluation index system for digital economy and carbon environmental governance is established from the four dimensions of digital infrastructure construction, digital industrialization, industrial digitalization and digital governance, and the three dimensions of environmental pollution level, environmental pollution control and resource and environmental governance, and the entropy method is used to carry out objective weights and calculate the scores of each indicator.Secondly, the coupling and coordination degree of the two systems of digital economy and carbon environmental governance is calculated, and a spatio-temporal evolution analysis is conducted;then, the spatial autocorrelation model is used to further observe the spatial distribution characteristics of the coupling and coordination degree of the digital economy and carbon environmental governance, and whether there are significant spatial agglomeration characteristics is identifed. Finally, geographic detector is used to explore the impact of the coupling and coordination degree of the digital economy and carbon environmental governance, and various factors are adopted to identify key indicators that affect the coupling and coordination of the two systems. The main conclusions are drawn as follows.(1)The level of digital economy and carbon environmental governance in the Yangtze River Economic Belt is on the rise. The growth rate of the digital economy far exceeds that of carbon-depleted environmental governance. The coupling and coordination degree of the two is increasing year by year, generally showing the spatial distribution characteristics of"downstream>middle reaches>upstream".The overall coordination level is low.(2)The spatial positive correlation characteristics of the coupling and coordination degree are significant, and there are obvious spatial correlation characteristics in adjacent provinces and cities.(3)The level of green innovation and digital infrastructure are the main driving factors affecting the coordinated development of the two systems, and the interaction between double benefits is better than a single factor.Based on this, the following suggestions are put forward:firstly, fully rely on digital technology to break through the bottleneck of carbon governance development;secondly, give full play to the regional advantages of upstream, middle and downstream to improve the level of coordinated development according to local conditions;thirdly, accelerate the construction of digital infrastructure and continue to strengthen the level of green innovation. In summary, this paper focuses on the coupling and coordination level, spatial and temporal distribution characteristics, and influencing factors between the digital economy and carbon environmental governance in the Yangtze River Economic Belt, which is of great significance in actively promoting the coordinated development of digital economy and carbon environmental governance and provides stable support and guarantee for the sustainable development of the region.
