Study of a prediction method for cutter wear based on cutter cerchar abrasivity index
The Full Face Hard Rock Tunnel Boring Machine(Tunnel Boring Machine)is large-sized construction equipment widely used in tunnel excavation.The disc cutter directly contacts and cuts the rock in the tunneling process.The wear rate of the disc cutter significantly affects the working efficiency and safety of the tunnel boring machine.To explore the disc wear characteristics under the normal wear mechanism and predict the cutter wear,we made a scale cutter with a proportion of 1:10 according to the actual geometric size of cutter.The cutter rotational abrasion tests of six kinds of hardness cutters were conducted by employing the SP3-I cutter compound wear experimental platform and the impact of cutter hardness on cutter wear was analyzed.On this basis,the Cerchar abrasion test of different hardness cutters were performed by using ATA-IGG I rock abrasion servo experimental instrument,and the cutter Cerchar abrasion index was introduced.The cutter CAI(Cerchar Abrasivity Index)value is measured by cutter Cerchar abrasion test.Based on the cutter CAI value,we propose a cutter wear prediction method based on cutter Cerchar abrasivity index.Our results show:1.under the same rock condition,the cutter wear of different hardness cutters decreases first and then increases with the rise of hardness.For the same rock type,there is an optimal range of cutter hardness.Employing a cutter within hardness range improves the work efficiency;2.according to the fitting curve between cutter CAI value and kilometer wear,the calculation formula of cutter wear in granite,sandstone and basalt under current working conditions is obtained,and a single cutter is used for rotary wear test in granite.Through verification and comparison,the average error between the predicted wear and the actual one is less than 10%.
