A Study on the Impact of County-Wide Migration of Farmers Back Hometown Between Urban and Rural Areas on Rural Revitalization
Based on field investigations across counties in both east and west China and existing related research,it is proposed that urbanization thresholds, county development, homesickness, and family needs collectively lead to changes in the push-pull factors for farmers'migration. Some farmers rationally return back hometown and migrate countywide between urban and rural areas. In the cases in both east and west China, farmers who move short distances countywide between urban and rural areas can to varying degrees balance rural industries, elderly care, cultural participation, and village affairs, and benefit overall rural revitalization. In view of this,it suggests to systematically smooth return channel, adjust return ideas, and stabilize return population.
